Senior Purchase Ledger Administrator

The Company:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger candidate to join a growing Group of companies with six different sites across the country.

The Role:

The role is based at our head office in Reading and the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running and management of the purchase ledgers for three different companies. This includes preparation of data for supplier payment runs, reconciliation of balances to supplier statements and managing inter-company recharges.

Who we are looking for:
To succeed in this role, you would have comprehensive working knowledge of the Purchase ledger system, functions, processes and understand the job duties listed below. You will have knowledge and experience with using the Sage accounting system. You will have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Inputting purchase ledger transactions onto the Sage accounting system.
• Reconciling the differences between the purchase ledger balances and supplier statements and summarising any differences for review.
• Investigating and resolving any purchase ledger queries together with communicating with suppliers over any missing items or disputes.
• Processing and reconciling any inter-company purchase invoices between the different companies.
• Ensuring good internal control with respect to the purchase ledger function.

Essential and Desirable Criteria:

• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate and build relationships with people at different levels.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the Purchase Ledger systems and processes.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet timely deadlines.
• Show good initiative and take ownership of tasks or issues.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge and experience of using Sage accounting systems.

Working hours: Monday to Friday (08:30-17:00)

Experience: Purchase Ledger – 3 years
